
esteban alarcón is a writer, artist, film maker, programmer and projectionist from guayaquil, ecuador, based in chicago. he graduated from the school of the art institute’s undergraduate program where he focused on film and creative writing that revolve around absurdism, dreams and class conflict. his work has expanded to radiophonic pieces, photography, video art and ethnographic film
alarcón currently works as a projectionist at the gene siskel film center, and as the regional producer for the moth in chicago. he is also the founder and co-programmer of employees only cine club. moreover, he is finishing his first feature, a documentary spanning 10 years in a psychiatric institute in guayaquil, ecuador, as well as editing a new narrative short film.
